Haiti News

A month ago today, a disastrous earthquake struck the island of Haiti just west of the capital Port-au-Prince. Amidst the chaos are thousands of collapsed buildings, broken roads, collapsed infrastructure and carnage, dead bodies littered the streets of Port-a-Prince, Leogane, Jacmel and many smaller towns in the south west of Haiti. The official death toll of bodies buried by the Government is now over 230,000, and a further 300,000 were injured. 1.2 million were made homeless and face the prospect of living in makeshift tents for the next 2 years. HF Haiti had already been registered and working for the last few years in response to the annual Hurricanes.
